Entrepreneur Tip #2: Keep Your Eyes on the Prize
Life gets hard. Sometimes business challenges test our resolve, or even break our spirit. As business owners, we must always keep our eyes on the prize, on our vision for our business. And we must rise, and rise again.
What’s your grand vision for your business?
To give people a chance to work at a job they love? To deliver a product that improves the lives of your customers? To embed your business into your community and be a part of lifting up your neighborhood? To create an opportunity for yourself and others to be part of something bigger than yourselves? To afford you the luxury of working remotely, or even eventually selling your business and retiring?
Hopefully you wrote your grand vision into your business plan, as I suggested in tip #1.
Whatever your giant vision is for your business, keep it front of mind. Write it on a sticky note and post it to your computer screen. Put it in a manifesto and share it with your circle of family and friends, as a way to ensure you’ll be accountable for sticking with it.
Perseverance wins out every time. Don’t quit. Try new things. Bend with the times, adapting to things outside of your control, like the Coronavirus pandemic. Do your best, just don’t quit, and eventually you’ll see growth, both professionally and personally.
Picture your grand vision when you get out of bed each day. Press on through the day, because tomorrow will be better. And the next day will be even better as you overcome life’s occasional setbacks.
Soon, you’ll be overflowing with inspiration for your business’ purpose. You’ll step lighter. You’ll positively impact the people around you.
Make your vision grand enough to motivate you… and others… every single day. And keep your eyes on that prize of financial security, fame, doing good works, making the world a better place for all, or whatever dream you want to manifest.
You got this.
